More than 40 children from Model Sports Village Bahadarpur and Khedi viran, Muzaffarnagar, visited the IMT Institute as part of a joint initiative between IMT Ghaziabad and Sports: A Way of Life NGO. Children were chosen based on their superior and exceptional athletic abilities. A four-year-old child was also among the children that came to this college for this event. Parents, coaches, and facilitators were present with them .
Dr. Akhtar Hussain (Librarian) showed the children around the library and highlighted importance of it while also sharing information about books, magazines, and other resources. They also participated in several exercises to help them build self-confidence, courage, and spirit. The kids were then taken on a tour of the mess, auditorium, and campus.
On this occasion, Dr. Vishal Talwar, Director of IMT Ghaziabad, Dr. Sudha Ramaswamy, Dr. Amit Sareen, Mr. Rajendra Singh, and many other notable IMT faculty members were present. Arjuna Award winner Mr. Ashok Dhyanchand, Major Dhyan Chand Award winner Mr. Ashok Dewan, Former International Hockey Player Mr. Arvind Chhabra, Major Dhyan Chand Award Winner Mr. Romeo James, International Hockey Player Mr. Vineet Kumar, and others were among the honored guests who addressed the function. The guest then explained to the children about the games and how one can become a man with a good personality by imbibing the qualities developed through sports in your life . Children were then provided bags, tracksuits, etc. by the guest. It was a great visit for the youngsters under the guidance of Sports Way of Life NGO and IMT Ghaziabad. Such initiatives should be taken in a more advanced way so that the coming generation will understand the need and importance of sports and will understand how we can make India a sports superpower.
