Mission Sharing With Dignitaries

Members of NGO Sports: A Way of Life met with Mr. Chetan Chauhan, former Cricketer and Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh on 25.07.2018 to apprise him about the Sports Literacy Mission started by the NGO.

He was informed that the primary goal of the Sports Literacy Mission started by this NGO was / is to combine primary education and sports and develop primary school as sports nursery. This will sprout the seeds of sports literacy from early childhood.

Mr. Chauhan was also apprised about our efforts to develop the sports alphabet 'Khel Praveshika' and "Know sports” as well as Sports Calendars. These two alphabet learning books are compilation of various sports staring with each alphabet. The Hon'ble Minister appreciated the work done by the NGO and also encouraged NGO members to carry this mission forward with zest and zeal.

Immediately after the meeting Mr. Chauhan has written a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education, Uttar Pradesh and apprised him as to how this initiative was / is aimed at the carrying forward the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Naredra Modi. Besides, the letter also says that the initiative will be a mile stone in terms of embedding sports values amongst the children at large. Mr. Chauhan has also instructed that the due process be followed and order be issued to make these two books i.e. 'Know Sports' and 'Khel Praveshika' as part of school curriculum.
