Events

On 30th January 2023, Monday, IMT Ghaziabad and Sports: A Way of Life organized the winter session of the National Sports Assembly. This was the third event since the National sports assembly started. The assembly was held at the Gurukul hall of IMT Ghaziabad and was attended by a total of 18 members in which 12 members were players from different sports and 6 members were the guests from different fields.

The following sports persons were presented at the assembly:

• Mr. Ashok Kumar Dhyan chand – Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mr. Yashpal Rana – Former Indian Volleyball Player

• Mr. Naveen Kumar Punia – Former Indian Handball Player

• Mr. Sujeet Kumar – Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mr. Mahendra Singh Bohra - Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mr. Raj Kumar Baisla – Former Indian Freestyle Wrestler

• Mr. Sandeep Singh maan – Indian Para Athlete

• Mrs. Geeta Arora Sharma - Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mrs. Sosan Sharma - Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mrs. Rachna Govil – Former Indian Athlete and shooter

• Mr. Avinash Srivastava - Former Indian Hockey Player

• Mr. Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi - Former Indian Hockey Player

Agenda of the Assembly

This winter session of the National Sports Assembly addressed three different agendas:

• Employment opportunities for sports person in corporate sector

• Sports welfare board should be set up in every State

• Sports as fundamental right should be promoted

The 3rd National sports assembly in its winter session started with the introduction of the guests followed by lightening of the lamp. Mr. Vishal Talwar, Director of IMT welcomed all the guests. The discussion was opened by Dr. Kanishka Pandey.
