Annual Sports Week Celebration was organized under the joint auspices of IMT, Ghaziabad and Sports: A Way of Life (NGO) at Model Sports Village Bahadarpur - Khedi Viran, Muzaffarnagar. It is the 3rd annual sports week celebration of Model Sports Village. The program was started with flag hoisting by the Chief Development Officer, Muzaffarnagar District, Mr. Alok Yadav. Dr. Kanishka Pandey the Head, Sports Research Center, IMT Ghaziabad glorified the importance of sports to the children and also said that sports and studies should go together only then education becomes complete. Sports should not be regarded as a hindrance to studies.

Mr. Alok Yadav, Chief Development Officer, Muzaffarnagar encouraged all the children to go ahead in the field of education by making sports a part of life and by performing better in sports and bring laurels to the parents and the village at the District, State and National level. Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, the patron of Sports: A Way of Life made the villagers aware that they are all trying to promote sports in the village. Sports infrastructure has been developed in the village, now it is sine qou non to spread it.

Hundreds of villagers including Shri Bhagat, Village Head (Gram Pradhan), Bahadarpur and Shri Rameshwar, Village Head (Gram Pradhan) Khedi Viran remained present in the programme.

2nd Day (07.04.2022)
Different sports events of boys and girls of different age groups were organized in the presence of sports coach and facilitator in the sports ground. The chief events in this function were 50 mt. race, 100 mt. race and 200 mt. race. The record of the winners of these events was compiled in these competitions. The villagers along with the parents of the players were also present in a large number during the sports event. They were told that the players who would perform best would be awarded medals by the guests at the closing ceremony. Children and their parents are enthusiastically participating in sports competition.

3rd Day (08.04.2022)
Various sports competitions were organized among boys and girls of different age groups in the presence of sports coaches, facilitators of the institution and villagers. In the competitions, there was the organization of 400 mt. race, Kho-Kho and Long Jump events. The record of the winning participants / team was maintained in these events. 

4th Day (09.04.2022)
Boys and girls of different age groups displayed their talents in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball. Also, a team of the boys participated in the event of Shooting ball. Records of winners and participants / team were maintained in these events.

5th Day (10.04.2022)
The events of Throw Ball, 800 mt. race, 1500 mt. race, 2000 mt. race and 3000 mt. race was organized on the 5th day of the Annual Sports Week function at Adarsh Khel Village. The boys and girls of different age groups participated in these events. The record of the winning participants/team was maintained in the competitions.

6th Day (11.04.2022)
The closing ceremony of the Annual Sports Week running from 06.04.2022 was held at Model Sports Village Bahadarpur - Khedi Viran, Muzaffarnagar. In the closing ceremony, 5 talented youngsters were selected for their better performance in the field. The guests presented during the closing ceremony told the villagers, players and their parents that now efforts are being made to take these selected children forward for better performance at the District and State level in coordination with the Sports Department and Sports Authority of India. Dr. Vishal Talwar (Director, IMT, Ghaziabad), Mr. Sunil Rana (Arjuna Award Winner, Wrestling), Mr. Naveen Punia (International Handball Player), Dr. Rajendra (Head Admin, IMT), Dr. Kanishka Pandey, Head, Sports Research Center, IMT Ghaziabad) Mr. Mahendra Singh, IAS (Secretary, Muzaffarnagar Development Authority) Dr. S.C. Kulshrestha (Patron, Sports: A Way of Life) Mr. Bhagat (Village Head, Bahadarpur) and Mr. Rameshwar (Village Head, Khedi Viran) were present in the Annual Sport Week.

The Chief Guest Mr. Mahendra Singh, IAS while encouraging the children said that if they make sports an integral part of life, they not only will be physically healthy but their character will also become good. And they will be able to become the would-be enlightened citizens of the country. Dr. Kanishka Pandey, Head, Sports Research Center, IMT Ghaziabad advised the children to play diligently and appealed to the parents and villagers to send their children to the playground for 2 hours every day and take advantage of the basic amenities that are going on. He also appealed to the villagers that on account of the efforts of the last two years, an atmosphere of sports has been created in this village and gradually they themselves have to come forward and take this mission further. Dr. Vishal Talwar, Director, IMT Ghaziabad said that the organization has done a lot of work in this village in the last 2 years and is thinking to provide many facilities. In this concluding ceremony, medals were distributed to about 200 children and on this occasion in the village. A sports equipment shop was also inaugurated so that rural children in need of sports equipment may buy it from this shop at affordable rates.
