Sports Literacy Promotion Campaign was started on 3rd March, 2022 at Village Foji Matkota, Rudrapur Tehsil, Distrct Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Cosmetic manufacturer Emami Group in collaboration with NGO Sports: A Way of Life have jointly taken initiative to promote sports here. Initially sports survey was carried out which revealed that female and male sports literacy stands at 1.5 and 5.2 percent respectively. During the inauguration of this program guests who were present included Shri Mohan Lal Kheda (Parshad), Akhtar Ali (District Sports Officer, Rudrapur), Shri Manoranjan (Principal), Shri Raghuveer Singh (Senior Sports Coach, Rudrapur Stadium) and Shri Manoj (Boxing Coach) etc. Under this initiative the NGO team members will reach out to villagers by paying visit to individual houses. This village has roughly 300 families and children from these families enthusiastically participated in the event.
